Helping Surrey move more

As part of our mission to get Surrey moving more we run courses and events to help influencers break down the barriers that can stop people getting active: we want to help you make it easier for them.

Whether you are a professional working in sport, health, or care - or a volunteer - 'Activating your community'  events can help you build your knowledge and confidence to create the best possible experience for those experiencing problems such as:

  • Mental health issues
  • Disability
  • Long term health conditions
  • Age-related falls

Children & young people focussed training

We have created a comprehensive range of training and development opportunities for those working with young people from some of the most inactive groups in Surrey:

  • Additional Needs and Disabilities (AND)
  • Lower Socio Economic Groups (LSEG)
  • Ethnically Diverse Communitites (EDC)
  • Children who are Looked After (CLA)
  • Those at risk of offending.

Our aim is to help underserved young people feel more motivated and confident by providing them with positive physical activity experiences. This programme was originally targeted at Club4 (holiday hunger) providers, those working on our criminal youth justice pathway and practitioners in the voluntary children and youth sector.

For more information and to see what resources are available, please contact Laura White.
