Primary Sport Premium Funding & Membership

Maximise your PE and Sport Premium Funding and become an 'Active School'!

Ofsted have highlighted schools’ need for clearer guidance on how best to spend the continued Government funding and the need to share best practice. Under the new, strengthened inspection framework (view handbook), inspectors will assess how effectively school leaders use the funding and measure outcomes for pupils, and how effectively governors hold them to account for this.

For an annual membership fee of just £850 (£800 renewal), you can access the following events and support for the 2018-19 academic year (prices subject to VAT for all non LEA schools):

1. Autumn term support sessions for new & existing PE leads
• New PE leads - Thursday 27 September, 1-4pm, Dorking
    • Existing PE leads – date and venue TBC  kids giving thumbs up

2. Create Development’s PE, Sport Premium & Health Wheel (training and online impact tool)

3. Active Schools Conference - Tuesday 6 November 2018, 8am – 4pm, Guildford

4. Best Practice Forum  - Wednesday 1 May 2019, 12-4pm, Leatherhead. Book your place

5. Discount on teachers training and support services via Active Surrey & SOLD

6. afPE’s ‘Safe Practice Guide' for PE, School Sport and Physical Activity

7. ‘Inside Active Schools’ & ‘Beyond the Classroom’ regular e-newsletters, featuring the latest news and advice on school sport in Surrey

8. Membership with the Association for Physical Education

9. Membership with the Youth Sport Trust

Primary School PE and School Sport Funding

The PE and Sport Premium is ring fenced, Government funding to help primary schools improve the quality of their physical education, physical activity and sport provision.

Vision: All pupils leaving primary school physically literate and with the knowledge, skills and motivation necessary to equip them for a healthy, active lifestyle and lifelong participation in physical activity and sport.

Objective: To achieve self-sustaining improvement in the quality of PE and sport in primary schools.

The Department for Education has published new guidance on the doubled Primary PE and Sport Premium funding, with additions to be aware of.
