Taking part in sport or physical activity is not just good for us as individuals, it can have a positive impact on a wide range of social outcomes as well: including building stronger communities. Bringing people together as participants in activity or as volunteers or spectators can help bridge the differences between people and help strengthen communities.
Being active also has a positive impact on the nation’s economy directly through job creation, and indirectly by reducing health spend and reducing crime and social disorder. You can read more about how we can demonstrate this impact on the Sport England website.
You can search for a local activity to suit you using our Activity Finder.
