Satellite Clubs

Satellite clubs are local sport and physical activity clubs designed to support young people aged 14-19 to develop more regular activity habits.

Supported by an established community sports club or physical activity opportunity, satellite clubs are set up at venues which are convenient for young people or where they already meet. Activities should be designed to respond to the specific demands from young people and should be positioned to support young people to change their behaviour to become more active.

Thanks to Sport England and the National Lottery, Active Surrey have been funded to establish new satellites but there needs to be a plan in place for the sessions to become self-sustaining.

New satellite clubs will be expected to utilise the Sport England Youth Insight Pack which offers national insight into young people's behaviour.

You can find out about our Key Themes for 2020-21 by reading our briefing document. We also have specific funding to support girls to get active.

If you would like to create / deliver or host a Satellite Club, please contact Patrick Culligan.
