As well as getting free kit and access to a personal mentor to support your volunteering, all participants will take part in the following workshops. All workshops will take place in Woking:
Volunteer Launch Event
An overview of what the Woking Sports Volunteers Academy can offer including a brief overview of what Doorstep Sport is.
This fun workshop will provide volunteers the chance to try activities and games across a range of sporting categories. Attendees will then be able to combine their existing coaching and leadership experience with new games, a variety of adaptions and top tips.
StreetGames and the FA have developed this workshop which explores some familiar and some informal and innovative ways to help young people get stuck in and enjoy their community football sessions a lot more than if they’re just playing a match!
Sport with Purpose
This workshop explains how to involve young people attending Doorstep Clubs in the decision making and planning process for the sessions that they belong to. The workshop will also share some examples of effective programmes.
