What do you need to know for the Specsavers Surrey Youth Games competition weekend?

Who are the Games for?

The Specsavers Surrey Youth Games are for young people aged 7-16 (7-18 for certain players in boccia) who want to to get active, have fun and try something new. After registration, participants receive free, quality coaching and have the chance to represent their local authority in an exciting Olympic-style competition.

Badminton & Senior/U13 Squash: Saturday 23 June, Woking Leisure Centre

Cricket & Football: Saturday 23 June, Surrey Sports Park

Boccia, Boxing, Hockey, Judo, Lacrosse, Netball, Touch Rugby, Junior/U10 Squash, Tennis: Sunday 24 June, Surrey Sports Park

Please take a moment to look at the Photography Policy before you take any photos and the Codes of Conduct that parents/spectators, players & coaches are expected to follow.

What sports can participants choose to train in? What are the restrictions?

See the list of sports on offer by ages/gender and restrictions on playing ability. Be aware that if your child is selected to take part in the Competition weekend, they can only take part in one sport competition per day.

Family Activities

Sunday 24 June at Surrey Sports Park, Guildford. Open to all ages and abilities.

Family Jogging - 12-3pm - Meet experienced Run Leaders and coaches who will introduce you to short, fun running games and activities to inspire your family.

Family Golf - 3-5pm - Come and spark your family's competitive edge by playing fun & friendly family golf.

You can pre-book your family activity by visiting the Shop at any time, even after the Games competition weekend or pay and play on the day. The family activities terms and conditions can be found here.

Who funds the Games?

The Games are supported by Active Surrey, local Borough & District Councils, Surrey County Council, the title sponsor Specsavers and venue sponsor Surrey Sports Park. This does not cover the cost of delivering this event which is why we appeal to parents to make a donation.

You can donate towards the Games when you register the participant or you can visit the Shop at any time, up until the Games competition weekend. Thank you for your support.
