Event Information for County Finals

If you have secured a place at a county final event either through qualification or by entering a stand alone event through your Active School Contacts, CONGRATULATIONS. We hope you have a fantastic and memorable day. Look out for your offical County Invite that you will receive via email from your School Games Organiser.

1. Remind yourself of the Event Details

Take a look at the Briefing Sheet for your chosen event. This includes information about the event such as; squad sizes, eligible players, venue, time, rules and contact details.

2. Selecting your team

Representing your school in the School Games is an honour which we ask that you share as widely as possible amongst your young people by varying the children you select for your sports teams. Please look to the Surrey School Games Competition Levels which are stated in each competition briefing sheet, the types of school representatives the competition is aimed at. We also ask that participants as well as onlookers and teachers adhere to our Code of Conduct to ensure that the best experience is had by all.

Before the event, please complete the team registration form which can now be found online here, which will securely store all personal information, should you wish to have a hard copy of the form please view it here

Please note that in order to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation, you must seek explicit parental consent for all things requested on the registration form, please ensure this is done ahead of the event day.

3. Safeguarding your children

Active Surrey has a rigorous approach to safeguarding at our School Games events and request that you read our welfare plan in advance of the competition. As part of our safeguarding measures, please read our Photography Policy and pass on to parents.

A copy of our School Games Risk Assessment is available while a copy of our Public Liability Insurance can also be made available by request. We will add venue-specific risk assessments below, as they are ready.

4. Promoting the School Games Values

Promoting the values of the School Games is a key element of every School Games competition. Participants, teachers, spectators, leaders and officials are all asked to adhere to these values. All participants will be given the opportunity to nominate schools to best display these values to win the Surrey School Games Values Award.

5. Attending a Festival

Attending a School Games Festival is a very special and memorable event for your young people. In Surrey, we deliver a Summer Festival which includes a ClubZone for all participants to have a go at a range of new and exciting sports and clubs.
