Surrey Club & Coach Conference on Sunday 25 March 2018 will provide a range of development opportunities for coaches and community sports club officials. Alongside the keynote address and potential for networking, this year’s event features a wide range of workshops to help you improve your club.
Active Schools Conference - Understanding the Impact of an Active School
The Active Schools Conference 2017 took place on 2 November. PE leads and Headteachers from schools across Surrey met suppliers and accessed a variety of workshops relating to enhancing their PE offer, with a keynote address from Dr William Bird focusing on the implications of inactivity.
Inspiring Inclusive Sport evening
As part of our Inclusive Sport month in May 2017 we brought together a range of experts in the field of disability sport for one evening only. Clubs and coaches wanting to improve their inclusive provision listened to the keynote speaker (the UK's Community Coach of the Year) and questioned a selected panel. Others took the opportunity to attend a specific workshop on Supporting Deaf Young People and Adults in Sport.
Female Coaching Conference
This regional event took place in April 2017 at Surrey Sports Park, and was was aimed at those who regularly coach and develop female participants, whatever their age. Over 70 female coaches attended and benefited from gender specific content and presentations on the theme of women in sport.
Surrey's Physical Activity Conference
Active Surrey's last Physical Activity Conference took place in September 2016 and targeted professionals working in leisure, planning, transport, and health and wellbeing, with keynote presentations from Sport England and parkrun Global.
