Surrey's Physical Activity Conference

Keynote address at Surrey PAC 2016

Active Surrey's Physical Activity Conference took place on 30 September at Kempton Park racecourse with supporting presentations ranging from the role of GP-prescribable sports programmes in combatting hypertension to improving the wellbeing (and academic performance) of schoolchildren through a daily running initiative.

The opening keynote speaker was Mike Diaper, Sport England’s Director of Community Sport who outlined the organisation's influential ‘Towards An Active Nation’ strategy released earlier in the year.

The closing keynote presentation was given by Nick Pearson (CEO parkrun Global) who gave delegates an overview of the parkrun phenomenon and discussed the secrets of their success and ethos.
