What's A Festival Like?

 

ACTIVE SURREY NETBALL FESTIVAL 17TH MAY 2003
 
The weather was damp but it certainly didnt affect the spirit of the 37 girls that took part in the 1st Active Surrey Netball Festival in Frimley on Saturday 17th May.

The Festival was the culmination of three months of advanced netball coaching at 3 Active Surrey Coaching Centres for 11-13 year olds based at Reigate, Godalming & Lightwater.
 
Five teams, consisting of players from the 3 Centres, competed in a round-robin tournament, with Reigates Gates Girlies A coming out on top.
 
The scores at the end of a round robin tournament were:
 
1st          Gates Girlies A           20 points
2nd          Waverley A             17 points
3rd           Gates Girlies B          14 points
4th           Waverley B              5 points
5th           Lighwater                  4 points
 
Alexandra Short, Surreys Netball Development Officer, was happy with the outcome of the day, The girls had worked hard at the Coaching Centres and relished the chance to put their skills into practice.
