Junior Helper Award (BJHA)

 

This award is aimed at young people aged 13 and upwards which follows a 6 hours programme and covers team work, leadership, managing a session of activity, organising and managing and planning an event.  The course presented as a series of workshops focusing on each aspect and is designed to present early stages of leadership in a fun yet informative way.

 

This course can also be delivered to support both the SLUK Level 1 in Sports Leadership (old JSLA) and SLUK Level 2 in Community Sports Leadership (old CSLA).

Young Helper Award (BYHA)
 
This award is aimed at young people aged 16 and upwards which follows a 17-28 hour programme plus a minimum of 10 hours community volunteering, providing a high quality introduction to becoming a young leaders as well as giving them experience in organising, officiating anf managing an event.
 
This course is presented in modular format and can be delivered to the SLUK Level 2 in Community Sports Leadership (old CSLA) standard.  However, each module can be delivered as a "stand alone" course.

Level 1 Assistant Coach Award                                     

 
This award contains all the practical information that you will need to introduce the game to beginners, school children and players with disabilities. The course will include information about safety, facilities and equipment, some technical and tactical aspects of badminton, and ideas on how to organise individuals and groups to play singles and doubles.  Candidates must have an understanding of the game and the rules prior to applying.  (NB Minimum age is 16 years old).
