We aim to instill best practice in all sports provision in Surrey, forever changing the way sport is provided for young people.
JUNIOR SPORTS ACTIVITIES
Listed in full under BETTER PLAYERS, all of the activities follow best practice including:
- All Head Coaches qualified to at least Level 2 Coach Award standard.
- All Assistant Coaches qualified, or working towards qualification, at Level 1 Coach Award standard.
- All Coaches qualified, or working towards qualification, in a range of minimum operating standards courses - First Aid, Good Practice & Child Protection, Equity & Disability Awareness.
- All coaching follows National Governing Body (NGB) guidelines.
- All coaches are police checked (through the Criminal Records Bureau, or CRB), medically checked and have had previous job references checked.
- Attendance registers are taken at each session.
- Confirmation letters, maps and expected conduct information sent upon receipt of bookings.
- First Aid equipment on hand at every session.
- Enough quality equipment for all players to get the most out of their time.
- Always at least 2 coaches working per session and enough to ensure never more than 1 coach per 15 children.
- All sessions are priced in an affordable way (with discounts available for those on low incomes) at quality, local venues & clubs.

More information is available under BETTER CLUBS, but essentially we are working hard to ensure all clubs listed on this site follow best practice to deliver safe, effective and child-friendly opportunities for all. Clubs are encouraged to prove their qualities by working towards accreditation through their National Governing Body (NGB) scheme, which in turn will award them with the cross-sport quality mark - CLUBMARK. Click above to find out how accreditation is helping clubs develop.
