Clubmark Essential Workshops

GOOD PRACTICE & CHILD PROTECTION (3 hrs)

Protect yourself, the young people in your club and your sports club, by understanding and following good safeguarding practice. Learn about child abuse, how to reduce the likelihood of abuse occurring, and how to handle situations if you have concerns. 

 

DEVELOPING PARTNERSHIP WITH CLUBS & SCHOOLS (3hrs)

Ideal both for schools and sports clubs wishing to set up or enhance junior sections.  Ensure quality school-club links, discover how to involve parents more, and learn to make the most of existing local organisations to realise mutual benefits.

 

VALUING YOUR SPORTS VOLUNTEERS (3hrs)

Making the most of your volunteer workforce, an essential issue to be considered to enhance current and future club success.  Learn how to Recruit, Retain and Reward  volunteers!!  Hear about how your club can make the best use of current county-wide initiatives to boost volunteering.

 

SPORTS FACILITY DEVELOPMENT (3hrs)

How to prepare for a sports facility building project. Taking you through the early stages of planning a building project for your club. Although there are currently none of these workshops running, please get in touch if you wish them to and we will see if we can arrange one.

 

FUNDING YOUR CLUB (3hrs)

Every sports club could use more money and better publicity. This workshop provides practical ideas for raising funds from a range of sources, including fund-raising events and sponsorship. It will also help you to identify how you can promote your club more effectively.

 

COMMUNITY AMATEUR SPORTS CLUBS (C.A.S.C) 

The CASC initiative seeks to recognise the important role played by sports clubs in local communities and distinguish them from businesses for rates and tax purposes.  Many of the financial benefits of charitable status are therefore available without the accompanying administrative responsibilities.  The scheme offers a real opportunity to keep money in the sport and recreation sector.

 

A CLUB FOR ALL  (3 hrs) 

This workshop identifies the benefits of opening up your club, to include a wider membership base - meaning more coaches, players, officials and increased revenue, improved eligibility for lottery funding, and quality ratings such as Clubmark; whilst ensuring the involvement and support of the local community.

 

HOW TO COACH DISABLED PEOPLE IN SPORT (2 hrs) 

This exciting short course introduces you to the adaptation of exercises, communication skills and how to ensure the safety of participants.

 

FIRST AID (6 hrs)

An HSE-approved, Appointed Persons course designed especially for sports coaches, leaders and officials.  Learn CPR & how to deal with Strains & Sprains, Breaks & Burns, Recovery & Recuperation.

 

EQUITY IN YOUR COACHING (3 hrs)

This workshop helps you to use and extend your existing skills to ensure that your coaching is truly open.  Learn to identify barriers to participation and use appropriate language and terminology.
