Introduction to the FUNdamentals of Movement
- Agility - dynamic stability, starting and stopping, momentum, acceleration and rhythm
- Balance - establishing a stable core, static stability, exploring the centre of gravity and base of support
- Co-ordination - related to disassociating body parts and the co-ordination of explosive actions including jumping, throwing, striking and kicking
- Introduce and identify the specific principles of Agility in more detail within various stages of activity
- Identify the components of Agility, Balance and Coordination in complex activities
- Learn, develop and apply how to improve participants movement skills with sport specific techniques

The CASC initiative seeks to recognise the important role played by sports clubs in local communities and distinguish them from businesses for rates and tax purposes. Many of the financial benefits of charitable status are therefore available without the accompanying administrative responsibilities. The scheme offers a real opportunity to keep money in the sport and recreation sector.

A Guide to Mentoring Sports Coaches
Mentoring is a powerful tool in the education and development of sports coaches at all levels. This workshop will help you as a mentor to support coaches' learning and focus on how learning occurs.
- identify your role as a mentor
- develop your mentoring profile
- increase the effectiveness of your mentoring relationships by developing practical mentoring skills
- design a mentoring programme that best suits the needs of your sport and the level of coaching.
By the end of this workshop, coaches will be able to:
- identify the foundations of good practice in risk management for coaching
- recognise and challenge poor health and safety practices
- identify appropriate actions to take if a lack of health and safety is apparent in an area, facility or activity
- advise performers, parents and guardians about the perceived and actual risks present in the sports in which they are involved
- recognise the roles and responsibilities of other agencies and organisations
- understand the relationship between hazard and risk in a coaching context
- identify specific hazards to which coaches are exposed
- identify specific actions that coaches can take to reduce the likelihood and/or frequency of unacceptable risk.

- How to understand and apply the principles of growth to young performers training
- How to understand the differences between male and female young performance development
- Knowing, understanding and applying the principles of training during young performers growth
- explain why children and young players take part in sport

- plan and deliver coaching sessions to maximise learning and enjoyment

- analyse your own performance against a checklist to identify areas of strengths and weaknesses
- recognise the different behaviours you exhibit in your coaching

- identify sport situations and coaching practice that might constitute either poor practice or possible abuse
- identify ways of dealing with your own feelings about child abuse and state what constitutes neglect, physical, sexual and emotional abuse

- identity appropriate action if abuse is suspected and explain the role and responsibilities of other experts (e.g. police, social services)

Most workshop attendees receive a fantastic resource pack and a certificate, those highlighted with a ~ are local, besoke training workshop and delegates will receive certificates of attendance and workshop resources.
