COACHING WITH ACTIVE SURREY
ACTIVE
SURREY offers these great benefits to coaches
who wish to become involved:
Coaches interested in working on the
ACTIVE SURREY programme (Athletics, Basketball,
Football, Hockey & Netball) should first contact
their local authority or sports specific development
officer (see LINKS).
Coaches will then be invited to apply
for posts within the programme and attend a Coach
Induction Evening to sign up to the programme
and learn more about the programme and its benefits for
coaches.
The next ACTIVE SURREY Coach
Induction Evening is not fixed so please call to

MINIMUM OPERATING STANDARDS
All coaches
working on ACTIVE
SURREY activities must have achieved,
or be working towards achieving, the following Minimum
Operating Standards:
- Level 2 Governing Body Qualification (Head
Coaches)
- Level 1 Governing Body Qualification (Assistant
Coaches)
Attendance
at
- Good Practice &
Child Protection Workshop
- Equity in Your
Coaching Workshop
- Emergency First Aid
for Sport Course
- How to Coach
Disabled People in Sport Workshop
- Introduction to Long Term Athlete
Development
Many sports clubs and employers are now
asking for similar qualifications. By becoming part of the
ACTIVE SURREY programme, you can access many of
the above at heavily discounted
rates (most are at least half-price) and inducted coaches also
receive an annual £20 voucher to use towards the
cost.
