COUNTY SQUADS
Active Surrey works closely with the
Surrey Basketball Association to ensure that players are given the
opportunity to play representative Basketball for the county and/or
region. Trials commenced in November
2008, followed by county-wide training sessions and games in
the Regional Tournaments in May and June 2009.
U13, U15 and U17 boys squads are being
selected as are the U13 girls.
The U15 and U17 girls training is still
open.

GIRLS DEVELOPMENT
SESSIONS
Open to all Under 13 girls - non-players
and players - to be held at
Hinchley Wood School, Claygate in January/February/March
2009.

Surrey Basketball is
running U10, U12, U14 and U16 Central Venues Leagues during the
2008-09 season. U12, U14 and U16 fixtures are

Surrey Basketball has organised a
one day Rosebowl tournament for senior men to take place on
Sunday 7 June 2009 at Ashcombe School, Dorking, from 9.00am to
6.00pm. more>>

Andrew Lawrence was voted U18 England
Player of the Year. He was selected because of his well-rounded
play for leading Tasis to the Final Fours and for his play in the
European Championships this summer.
Andrew played in
Surrey schools, central venue leagues and county teams to progress
to the England squad.
In the 2008
European Championship, Lawrence averaged 12.5 points per game and
had an overall rank of third in the tournament in three statistical
categories - steals (2.7 per game), free throw percentage (84.2%)
and assists (4.5 per game)
A ndrew, from Woking, is presently in the
States in Martinsville, Virgina, attending a prep school. He
is presently being recruited
by a number of colleges and universities.
COACHING & OFFICIATING
If you would like to coach or officiate in Basketball, there is training
available for you to take up voluntary or paid employment. More>>
