Fun, outdoor, athletics coaching weeks
for children aged between 8 & 15 years. Take part in a
wide range of activities for improving running, jumping and
throwing at venues over the summer. These camps are linked to
local athletics clubs so you can follow on with the
sport in the autumn. More>>
Athletics is a voluntary sport and
without the time and commitment given by clubs, coaches, officials
etc we would not have a sport. Most of the clubs around
Surrey currently has a waiting list due to the high demand of
children wanting to join their local athletics club. Clubs
need more volunteers to help assist with the high level of numbers
that want to particiate. More>>
If you would like to become an athletics
coach, there is training available for you to take up voluntary or
paid employment. More>>
Courses are available for primary and
secondary teachers to learn more about athletics. The courses aim
to give teachers and others working in schools the knowledge,
skills and confidence to deliver enjoyable and engaging maximum
participation and increasing understanding, skill acquisition,
fitness and enjoyment. More>>
Following on from the successful squad
days held last year, we have organised a further five more traning
days throughout the autumn and winter for U15, U17 and first
year U20 Athletes that have achieved a grade 1 or 2
standard in their event. More>>
Throws and Jumps coaches needed to
deliver coaching sessions within clubs and to help train coaches in
these specilist events. More>>

CLUBMARKClubamark helps Athletics clubs function
in the most efficient way, with least long-term hassle. It is
directly linked to Sport Englands Clubmark scheme and its all about
good practice in the development of athletes, coaches
and volunteers at all levels. Clubs are encouraged to work
through Clubmark and gain assistance via the Active
Surrey Club Accreditation Scheme.

The Power of 10 scheme was launched
in July 2006, aimed at raising athletics standards in the UK
all the way from clubs to the Olympic Games. It is a statistical
step-ladder devised to inspire athletes Seniors, Under 20s, Under
17s, Under 15s and Under 13s to move through club, regional and
national levels to international standards. Power of 10 is based on
standards considered attainable in a particular season by
the 10th-best athlete in the UK in every Olympic track and field
