PLAYERS

Whatever your ability and however far you want to progress, ACTIVE SURREY provides fantastic opportunities to get involved in organised, quality sport.

ACTIVE SURREY provides a co-ordinated Player Pathway linking School PE & Sport, Youth Clubs and Holiday Schemes:

LOCAL COACHING COURSES
If you've tried sport at school, holiday scheme or youth club, then you are invited to attend top quality coaching.  Each sport organises 5 - 10 week coaching courses, using qualified coaches, which WILL make you a better player.  The sessions also give you a chance to compete.  Costs are kept to a minimum and there are discounts available.

QUALITY LOCAL SPORTS CLUBS
There are thousands of sports clubs in Surrey.  Through Clubmark accreditation, you will be able to pick out the best one for you.  Clubs give you structured quality coaching, the chance to gain skills awards and provide competitive opportunities.  (See CLUBS page for a list of Clubs near you).

SURREY YOUTH GAMES
Your chance to represent your borough or district and join 2,000 others competing in this annual county-wide festival of sport.  Held over two days every June in Guildford, this year's event, organised by ACTIVE SURREY,  saw teams compete in Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Boccia, Football, Hockey, Judo, Netball, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Squash and Tennis.  (See SURREY YOUTH GAMES for a report and photos from this year's Games).

ASSESSMENT DAYS
Each sport organises Assessment days, where talented players will work with coaches and selectors and progress to Development Squads.

DEVELOPMENT SQUADS

Promising players will be invited to receive further training with top coaches.  This will put you in a great position to represent the county.

COUNTY SQUADS

These squads are organised by county sports associations and offer you the chance to compete regionally and nationally.
