COACHING BEST PRACTICE
MINIMUM STANDARDS OF DEPLOYMENT
sports coach UK has completed a review of the content, function and nature of minimum standards for sports coaches within the UK sports coaching industry.
Based on these findings, Minimum Operating Standards (MOS) have been replaced by the recommended Minimum Standards of Deployment (MSD), as of July 2011.
Minimum Standards of Deployment can be seperated into CORE & ADDITIONS.
CORE:
-
minimum of 18 years old for a lead coach
-
minimum of 16 years old for an assistant coach
-
relevant insurance cover
-
enhanced CRB check
-
Level 2 NGB coaching qualification for a lead coach
-
Level 1 NGB coaching qualification for an assistant coach
-
a commitment to: code of conduct, equality, participant welfare, agreed health and safety
ADDITIONS:
sport coach UK will start reviewing the content for the additions in 2011. Until further information is released on this, sports coach UK recommend that coaches continue to do the following training courses:
