This award is for a coach,
official, administrator or general helper (aged 25 and under as of
the 31 August 2009) who has:
- demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment to a sport or club.
- made a tremendous impact on a club or organisation through volunteering.
- shown a commitment to personal development, team working and supporting the development of other volunteers

Lucy Brown -
WINNER
Surrey
Heath Netball Club
Lucy has been a member of the
Surrey Heath Netball Club for four years and has attended training
early every week for the last two years to carry out player
registration. Lucy has been involved with both
administration and coaching for the Surrey Youth Games, this year
helping to coach the High 5 and Junior Netball
teams. Lucy started umpiring for the club at the
age of 14 and is currently working towards her C Grade
qualification. During her time at the club she
has been committed to her own personal development, attending
various courses and putting her skills to good use by acting as the
main Surrey Heath umpire and assisting the U13 Team
Manager.
Hannah
Smith
Oxshott
Netball Club
At 16 years of age, Hannah is
committed to supporting netball in Epsom and
Ewell. As a past participant of the Surrey Youth
Games, Hannah has remained involved in the Games by assisting with
coaching and the selection of squads. Hannah
also dedicated her time on the weekend of the Games supporting and
mentoring the teams she had coached. She has
also been involved with helping the North Surrey School Sports
Partnership at school festivals, tournaments and
competitions. Hannah will be completing her
Level 1 coaching qualification in October and is keen to continue
to support the Surrey Youth Games in future
years.
Sean
Edwards
Surbiton Hockey
Club
Sean has been a member of Surbiton
Hockey Club from the age of 10 years old. His
hard work and dedication during this time has allowed him to
develop into one of the most talented young umpires in the
country. In 2008 Sean officiated at the UK
School Games in Bristol. He has also umpired at
international level in U16 tournaments in Barcelona and Holland and
at the National Junior Indoor finals at the NIA in
Birmingham. Sean regularly participates in the
National Young Umpires Challenge and is an outstanding example to
all young people that there is more to sport than merely
participating on the field
