The Active Surrey
Funding Guide 2010, aims to provide accessible information on
funding for sports clubs, organisations and individuals in Surrey.
The funding guide is updated regularly with new funding streams so
keep on eye on it!
The funding advice and
tips section, is there to help you to develop
successful applications. Runningsports also provide a free quick
guide on this subject.
The funding guide and
the other links on the right of this page are designed
to inform you of the different types of funding and make
your search as easy as possible. Please let us know how easy

GRANT FINDER
Active
Surrey has subscribed to GRANTFinder, the UK's leading
grants and policy database that includes details in excess of 6,000
funding opportunities. GRANTFinder services include access to:
a flexibly searchable database; Newsflash service; deadlines
listing; and Research Help Desk. What's more, the information is
continuously updated.

SPORT UNLIMITED
Sport Unlimited is a
successful national programme funded by Sport
England and aimed at getting more children and young
people to take part in sport outside school time. More>>
SURREY COUNTY PLAYING FIELDS ASSOCIATION INVESTS IN
SURREY SPORT
Surrey County Playing Fields Association
(SCPFA) encourage the provision of recreational facilities for all
age groups, and provide grants and loans to ensure the needs of
village communities in Surrey are met.
In March 2010 SCPFA awarded over
£3,000 in grants to sports organisations. These
included:
- Blackheath Cricket Club (Guildford) £1,000 awarded to help cover the cost of a climate cover for part of the newly extended square.
- Busbridge Lawn Tennis Club(Waverley) £500 awarded towards the cost of purchasing at least 12 mesh windbreaks, as the club is on top of Holloway Hill they are needed!
- Active Surrey SCPFA are funding the Fair Play Award at Surrey Youth Games 2010.
- Surrey County Bowling Association £764 awarded to purchase playing shirts for their teams in the 12 25 years age groups. The current shirts are 7 years old!
- Reigate & Banstead £100 awarded to help fund for their Festival of Sport on 2 May 2010.
Also, in March 2010 SCPFA granted
Farnham RFC in Waverley a £35,000 loan to support their
£1.7million development.

SPORT ENGLAND FUNDING
STRATEGY
Sport
England's funding strategy provides a
description of each of the funds that are available and a
description of the application, awards and reporting
process. The summary of this strategy is available to
download here.
FUNDING 4 SPORT
WEBSITE IS LAUNCHED!
Funding 4 Sport has just launched its
new website www.funding4sport.co.uk.
The Funding 4 Sport website was set up
to provide a One Stop shop for Sports Clubs, Local Authorities,
Governing Bodies of Sport, University students and all those
interested in sport, play and physical activity development. The
site has over 2,000 documents related to sport, play and physical
activity that include; templates, forms, toolkits, policies,
research, strategies and whole range of support materials that will
help you develop your organisation. The documents have been
gathered from the UK and across the World including the main
leaders in sport, play and physical activity of New Zealand,
Canada, Australia and the USA. The site also contains a whole range
of documents that organisations require that cannot be found on the
internet, and have therefore been developed to fill these
voids.
