Wendy
Newton
Senior Competition Manager
Wendy came to the role in 2008 with seven
years experience in sports development work in Surrey. During
that time she worked for local authorities in the sport, play
and the youth development sector. Key partners and
colleagues included young people, clubs and coaches, Active
Surrey Sports Partnership, National Governing Bodies of Sport and
in more recent years, the School Sports Partnership
networks.

Competition Manager - North
West Surrey, Mid Surrey and Waverley & Ash School Sport
Partnerships.
Prior to this role Beth worked for The Royal
Parks; managing a three year community sports project in Regents
Park to encourage local communities to access the park for sport
and physical activity (e.g. football, rugby, cricket,
softball/baseball, walking/jogging).
She worked very closely with local sports
development units, local community clubs and groups, primary care
trusts, Pro-Active Central London and healthy living centres to
organise and deliver a calendar of events that encouraged use of
the park facilities by the target
groups.
