COACH DEVELOPMENT DAYS

 

Sunday 17th February 2008 saw 20 coach's from across 16 sports undertake session in Sports Psychology and Behaviour Management.

 

The Howard of Effingham School, Surrey hosted the annual event where Paul Robinson, sports psychologist, University of Chichester started the day off with a 3 hour theory session which gave delegates a real insight into the different ways people perform, helping you to understand how to make training more effective, and showing you practical techniques that are proven to enhance sporting performance.

 

The specific topics covered were Initial assessment, Concentration, Focusing and re-focusing, Confidence, Performance Profiling, Goal setting, Imagery, Anxiety reduction/inducement.

 

The afternoon session saw a 2 hour practical workshop delivered by Michelle Jeffcoate, sports coach UK tutor around Behaviour Management.

 

The workshop looked at the key principles of managing challenging behaviour and allow coaches to explore these key principles within a practical, coaching environment.  Learn how to adapt your coaching behaviour to continue to deliver your sessions.
