What is a Quality
Club?
All sports clubs looking to develop and
formalise links with schools should possess specific minimum
standards, which ensure that they are friendly and safe
environments for children to participate in sport. Clubmark
is the name of the nationally recognised kitemark for clubs. As a
stepping stone to Clubmark, a scheme known as Active Surrey Club
Accreditation Scheme (ASCA) is run locally. Schools should ideally
look to work with Clubmark clubs, although it is acknowledged that
clubs who are ASCA Silver or above, will have the policies
and procedures in place to support school club links.
Accredited clubs will have put into
place all of the above aspects and criteria.
