BETTER CLUBS
"Clubs of every
shape and size are at the heart of
everything we do"
everything we do"
(Sport England Club Development Policy, 2006)
This Framework aims to highlight how the
delivery of Surrey's Club Development Strategy, National Governing
Body Strategies and the PESSCL Strategy are linked to the delivery
of a number of club development outcomes in The South East Plan for
Sport, Mission: Possible.
This framework outlines where Surrey
aims to be with regards to club development by
2009. It has the following underlying
aspirations:
- To increase the number of quality sports club environments
- To increase the number of clubs continually seeking to develop and improve
- To increase the number of clubs that are self-sustainable
- To increase the number of clubs actively encouraging and providing sporting opportunities to all members of the community
- To increase the number of people participating in sports and physical activity by 1% year on year
The Framework gives examples of how this
can be achieved to assist partners to write implementation plans,
which will be a key part in delivering Surrey's strategic
objectives. It acknowledges the need for the improved co-ordination
of club development, education and training across Surrey and more
effective communication and commitment
to partnership working.
