BETTER COACHES & LEADERS
Our goal is to guide and support the
establishment of a coaching & leadership system in Surrey that
is the best in the UK. This system will not only
produce and maintain coaches & leaders that are
fit for purpose as a result of their education,
qualification and development, but also deliver the right
coach/leader to the right place at the right time.
The aim of this Framework is to provide
structure to the development of better sports coaches and leaders
within the county of Surrey. The Framework will help support the
delivery of sports coach UK's UK Vision for Coaching and Sports
Leaders UK's Strategic Plan and provide direction for the delivery
of key targets in Sport England's Regional Plan for Sport, Mission:
Possible.
This framework outlines where Surrey
aims to be with regards to coaching & leadership by
2009. It has the following underlying
aspirations:
- To increase the number of people receiving coaching and tuition
- To increase the number and quality of coaches and leaders
- To increase the number of coaches and leaders from under-represented groups
- To increase the number of young people involved in coaching and leadership
- To increase the opportunities for training and employment
- To increase the number of people participating in sports and physical activity by 1% year on year.
The Framework gives examples of how this can be achieved to assist partners in writing implementation plans, which will be a key part in delivering Surrey's strategic objectives. It acknowledges the need for the improved co-ordination of coaching & leadership development, education and training across Surrey and more effective communication and commitment to partnership working.
