BETTER HEALTH

The aim of this document is to provide structure to the development of Better Health within Surrey.  The Framework will help support the delivery of regional strategy the 'Move It!' framework and the Sport England's Plan for Sport, Mission:Possible.

The framework has been developed with input from national, regional and local strategy, and with consultation from a range of partners and local health representatives.  The Framework forms the vision for health of Active Surrey Sports Partnership, and it's delivery will be assisted by existing and new partners within the county.  These will include Local Authority, Primary Care Trust, FourS, Leisure Providers, Surrey County Council, National Governing Bodies and schools.

The Framework outlines what Surrey aims to achieve in health by 2009. It has the following underlying aspirations:
The emphasis is given to ensuring better co-ordination and communication between partners of sport and physical activity for health.  Also of importance, is supporting the development of healthy environments, and ensuring activities are available to enable more people to be more active.  With effective and successful partnership and interagency working at a county level, there will be an opportunity to address important challenges facing local communities within health and physical activity provision.
