BETTER ACTIVITY

The aim of the Better Activity Framework is to provide a structure for the development of activity within the county of Surrey.

The Framework will help support the delivery of Every Child Matters: Change for Children (2004), the Framework for Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport (Child Protection in Sport Unit, 2006) and The Equality Standard (2005) as well as underpinning delivery of key targets of Children and Young People's Plan for Surrey (Surrey Children and Young People's Strategic Partnership, Outline for Consultation, 2006).

The Framework seeks to ensure that the rights of children and young people are valued and central to the delivery of activity. Whilst acknowledging current areas of good practice within the county, it recognises that there are still significant steps to be made to ensure that all children and young people have the opportunity to participate in fun activities in a safe and protective environment.

The Framework highlights the need for all partners to play their part in its delivery and work together to challenge expectations and raise the threshold of quality for local activity provision.
