MAKING SURREY A MORE ACTIVE & SUCCESSFUL SPORTING COUNTY

Betters' Consultation 2006

In January 2006, Active Surrey Sports Partnership held an event to celebrate its achievements over the previous four years and set out a Strategic Framework for the future development of sport, recreation and physical activity in the county over the next three years (April '06 to March '09), to help achieve its vision:

"to make Surrey a More Active
and Successful Sporting County"

The Strategic Frameworks recognise the advancements that have been made, but are based on the need to continually improve and make sport in Surrey "better". Twelve key areas (Betters) have been identified and a broad range of partners and stakeholders were given the opportunity to shape them further at the event. The current documents are the results of that initial consultation.  Should you wish to promote the Frameworks, or seek views from your wider network, please feel free to direct people to this website.

In order to bring life to the Frameworks, we must value and respect the contributions we all, as individuals and organisations, make to sport in Surrey.  We hope that through your involvement with this process, you are able to share our vision, recognise the valuable role you can play in achieving it's objectives and recognise that through your contributions to sport, recreation and physical activities in the county, you are very much a part of the Active Surrey Sports Partnership.
