ACTIVE SURREY CLUB ACCREDITATION

CRITERIA

 

 

The Active Surrey Club Accreditation is broken down into 3 levels:

 

Working through and attaining these 3 levels will result in the club becoming available for various benefits and rewards, and the club will get more and more support and guidance from sports development professionals as they progress.  Working through these levels will get the club upto Clubmark standard quickly and effectively.

 

Outlined below are the criteria for each stage of Active Surrey Club Accreditation.  There are numerous templates and guides to assist the club meet the required standard.

 

 

 
When a club has achieved these various components satisfactorily, the Active Surrey Sports Partnership will award the club with a bronze accreditation.  The club will also have met the necessary criteria in order to qualify for Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASC) tax relief status, other benefits>>
 
Criteria:
 
1)     Coaches, Officials & Volunteers Codes of Conduct.
2)    Code of Conduct for Parents / Supporters.
3)    Codes of Conduct for Participants.
4)    Club Registration & Membership Forms.
5)    Club has appropriate membership categories and fees.
6)    Open Club Constitution.
7)    Equity Policy Statement.
8)    End of Year Accounts for the club (Budgetary Statement).
9)    Club Child Protection Policy Statement
10)  Club has Public Liability Insurance
11)  Club is affiliated to NGB (if appropriate)
12)  An Audit of Coaches, Officials and Volunteers
 
 
 
When a club has achieved these various components satisfactorily, the Active Surrey Sports Partnership will award the club with a silver accreditation.  The club will also have met the necessary criteria in order to be considered minimum standards for Active Surrey to proactively link the club into various club development schemes.  The club must already have achieved the Active Surrey Bronze level in order to receive the Silver award.

Criteria:
 
        Child Protection:
1)     Club child protection policy and procedures.
2)    Child Welfare Officer Appointed with Role description & CRB Check.
3)    Club has minimum of 1 child protection trained officer.
4)    Key coaches and volunteers in junior section of club to have Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) check, all others to have at least completed Self-Disclosure forms.
 
       Health & Safety:
5)    Club First Aid Procedures & Provision.
6)    Emergency Procedures.
7)    Emergency Next of Kin contact details.
8)    Record of participants medical conditions.
9)    Accident / Incident report form.
10)  Minimum of 1 First Aid Qualified person per team.
11)  Risk Assessments of the club.
 
      Coaching Programme:
12) At least 1 Qualified coach in club at a minimum of Level 1 of particular sport.
13) Attendance Register.
14) Each junior team has a Squad Coach / Manager with Role descriptions and a CRB check.
15) Volunteer Co-ordinator Appointed with Role description and a CRB check.
16) Role Description for all Volunteers.
17) Coaches Information Pack.

18) Club works in partnership with NGB, CSP & LA's.

 

 

 
This award corresponds with the club being in a position to successfully attain the Clubmark accreditation for their particular sport.  On achieving these components, the club will receive the Active Surrey Gold award from the Active Surrey Sports Partnership.  The club may still have minor sports specific elements to complete in order to attain their Clubmark accreditation, but you are 95% there!  Other Benefits>>
 
Criteria:
 
1)     Club has at least one Level 1 Qualified Coach for each junior team with CRB checks.
2)    There is at least one Level 2 Qualified coach in the club with a CRB check.
3)    Club has a minimum of 2 people who have attended approved Child Protection courses.
4)    Club has a minimum of 1 coach who has attended an approved Disability Awareness course.
5)    Coaches have Public Liability Insurance.
6)    Coaches have attended a "Club for All" Workshop (minimum of 1 person).
7)    Coaches have attended an approved Equity in Your Coaching course (minimum of 1 person).
8)    Club has appropriate ratio for number of coaches to participants as specified by the NGB.
9)    Club Fixture Information & Training Schedules.
10)  Club Newsletter / Website.
11)  Club & School Partnership Agreement & Link.

12)  Club Development Action Plan.
