MOVEMENT & DANCE LINKS

The new Exercise, Movement & Dance Partnership (EMDP) brings together the Keep Fit Association, The Fitness League and the Medau Society. The unification will enable them to work more closely together towards increased participation at all levels.

Sport England has agreed to invest £150,000 per annum for three years into the EMDP (2006-09). This follows the three national governing bodies last year submitting their joint business plan called Get Moving: A million movers in 25 years.

The Exercise, Movement and Dance Partnership aims to be a nationally recognised voice of the movement and dance sector, and to increase the number of qualified teachers in the sector as well as those getting active.

See documents for information on Medau and training to instruct in this new dance movement.

See www.emdp.org for more information.
