FACS - FREE ACCESS FOR COUNTY SPORTSPEOPLE

If you are competing for/training within a County Squad you may be eligible to access the local leisure centres in your area for FREE!

For conditions (e.g., age restrictions), and to apply, call your local Leisure team (you must be a resident of the borough/ district you apply to join):

FANS - FREE ACCESS FOR NATIONAL SPORTSPEOPLE

FANS is for athletes ranked in the top 10 nationally (for their age group) for their chosen sport.

To help you with your training, you can access 3 sports/leisure centres (choose from a county-wide selection) free of charge and also receive a host of other benefits including discounts at sports injury clinics and regular updates from the FANS team.

TASS - TALENTED ATHLETE SUPPORT SCHEME

TASS started in September 2004 and is designed to provide bursaries & scholarships to "elite sports students" in Further & Higher Education between the ages of 16 & 25 years of age.

Universities can receive up to £3,000 for each elite sports person to provide them with additional services such as sports science, sports medicine, mentoring, coaching, etc, and up to £1,000 to provide a similar service for nominated FE & 6th Form elite sports students.

National Governing Bodies of sport will nominate individuals for this initiative. Contact your College or University sports association/department or click here for further information.

STARS

The Student Talented Athlete Recognition Scheme at Royal Holloway, University of London provides wide-ranging active support to assist student elite athletes in achieveing their full potential during their time at the college, in their combined sports and academic performances.

SPORTS AID

SportsAid is the charity for sports people, helping the next generation of young British sportsmen and women to succeed. SportsAid invites over 1,500 applications a year from up to 50 different sports. Applicants must be identified and nominated by their National Governing.

BRITISH AIRWAYS GREAT BRITONS

British Airways, the official airline partner of London 2012, have launched Great Britons, an initiative designed to provide support to people who want to develop their talent.

Under the Great Britons scheme, BA plan to give away hundreds of flights. The scheme will provide the winning entries with a trip that will boost their chances of success in their chosen field, be it in sport or another area. The flight could take the chosen applicants to any British Airways destination, and the scheme aims to facilitate an experience, through visiting a location or attending an event, for each winner that will help them to succeed. As part of the prize, winners will be given a camcorder each, on which to record their travels.
