Level 1 Coach Award

This brand new award from the Professional Golfer's Association (PGA) is designed as an entry into coaching, specifically aimed at equiping volunteers, including school teachers and junior organisers at golf clubs, with the basic techniques.

The main topics covered during the 2-day course will include coaching skills and basic golf techniques for children, as well as various games, drills and activities to aid learning. In addition there will be aspects covering safety in coaching and, in particular, coaching children.

Eligibility: No handicap limit, but a certain level of skill is required to demonstrate shots effectively; aged 18+; have a completed Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check; have attended a sportscoach UK "Good Practice & Child Protection" workshop.

Junior Golf Leaders Award

Tee off your coaching career with this great course that teaches you the basics of how to coach golf and includes tips on improving your organisational, communication and motivation skills. As well as learning how to deliver safe, fun sessions to young people, you will also be provided with practical information booklets to take away and "Putt" into use! (For candidates aged 14 to 24)
