LEADERSHIP AWARDS COURSES

 

 

 

Level 1 in Sports Leadership Award (JSLA)

 

The JSLA is for students aged 14 - 16 years old.  The Sports Leaders UK - JSLA course is taught mainly in schools within the National Curriculum for Physical Education. The Award develops a young persons skills in organising activities, planning, communicating and motivating.

 

The 7 units of the award deliver elements of the Physical Education National Curriculum at Key Stage 4.  As well as this, the generic aspects of leadership taught by the award complement many of the governments objectives of the Citizenship NC requirements:

Level 1 in Community Sports Leadership Award (CSLA)

 

The Sports Leaders UK - CSLA course is a fantastic course open to anyone aged 16+.  This training course is an ideal first step towards gaining National Governing Body coaching qualifications, and will give you the chance to develop your communication, organisation and leadership skills, giving you the confidence to lead sport in the community.

Open Courses will soon be available, one specializing in delivering dance, the other in delivering sport.

Surrey Young Coaches & Officials (SYCO) Programme

 

The SYCO Programme is designed to complement existing courses, like the JSLA & CSLA, by offering sports-specific "bolt-on" courses to anyone aged 14 - 19 years old that lives, is being educated, or works, in Surrey.  At just £20 each, the courses offer incredible value.

 

The Programme also offers you the opportunity to start working in sports coaching, officiating and administration at quality local sports clubs or as part of the Active Surrey "Better Players" Programme.

Level 2 in Basic Expedition Leadership Award (BELA)

 

The Sports Leaders UK - BELA course is for those interested in the outdoors and builds the ability to organise safe expeditions and overnight camps. Or check out this website.

 

 

Level 3 in Higher Sports Leadership Award (HSLA)

 

The Sports Leaders UK - HSLA course builds on the skills gained through the Community Sports Leader Award to equip people to lead specific community groups such as older people, people with disabilities and primary school children.
