This award provides candidates with the
knowledge, understanding and practical ability to perform &
teach the basic skills of orienteering. Candidates will be
able to demonstrate safe practice in working with groups of
beginners on simple orienteering areas (e.g., school sites, outdoor
centres, local parks, etc), ideal for teachers, youth workers,
uniformed group leaders and club members. Minimum age 16
(Route B qualification) or 18 (Route A qualification).

The knowledge gained by attending this
course will enable candidates to develop an understanding of safe,
ethical and effective orienteering coaching. The
certificate qualifies you to coach the skills and techniques of the
sport of orienteering to adults and children. Minimum
requirements of candidates: valid first aid
certificate, age 16 years
old, be at least "Light Green" standard.
