Level 1
Award
The Introductory Coach Award is designed specifically for people new to coaching and/or cycling. The coach will be able to prepare for, deliver and review the Go-Ride activities at Gears 1 and 2, plus the Go-Ride Skills Test to children of primary school age. This new award will be available from January 2005.

Level 2 (Activity Coach) Award
The Activity Coach Award focuses on producing a competent coach who can promote the benefits and joy of cycling, and appropriate skill acquisition through quality coaching of riders at the grass roots level. The Activity Coach Award is an entry-level award into the British Cycling Coach Education Programme for people who are new to coaching and/or cycling but are intending to deliver group cycling activities. This training also supports the delivery of the British Cycling Go-Ride programme. You will learn about the basics of coaching, cycling techniques and equipment, improving rider performance, and planning and conducting cycling activities.

The British Cycling Activity Coach Award
for teachers is an introductory award for teachers into the British
Cycling Coach Education Programme. This award focuses on increasing
the teachers knowledge and skills to produce a competent coach who
can promote the benefits and joys of cycling, and appropriate skill
acquisition through quality coaching of children within their
school.

Club Coach Award
The British Cycling Club Coach Award focuses on the traditional club coach - someone who works with a group or individual(s) at club level. The award is relevant to all cycling disciplines. You will learn about the principles that underpin your coaching and training prescription, how to construct a rider profile, plan an annual programme for a rider, and prescribe training to improve endurance and sprint performance. You will also learn about nutrition for cycling, making your coaching environment equitable, cycling equipment and position on a bike.
