Chair - Snowsport England

Salary: voluntary

Contract:  n/a

Hours: estimated 2 days per month

Snowsport England is the governing body responsible for the development of Snowsports in England, including Alpine, Snowboarding, Nordic and Freestyle skiing. We run training programmes for school ski trip leaders, and for aspiring ski coaches; we have a team of development officers to develop grassroots participation around the various clubs and facilities in England. We run an extensive competition programme in England and in Europe, along with supporting athletes who are selected to Team England status.

With the retirement of our Chairman, this vacancy has arisen, and we are seeking an exceptional individual who is passionate about sports at every level (but is not necessarily involved in a professional capacity). This role requires someone who has the profile and skills to develop strong relationships, to influence key people and partners, and to enhance the capabilities of our own organisation. In short, someone who can make a real difference to the future of Snowsports in England. Commitments include chairing our board of directors, visits to facilities, events and partner organisations, representation of Snowsport England at key meetings. We expect the commitment to amount to about 2 days per month. The role is voluntary, although out of pocket expenses will of course be met.
